Vauxhall Astra Mk4 1.6 2003

  

Resisted due to time waster. Sadly I have to say goodbye to our family car. This little Astra has been in our house for 18 years. Unfortunately it has just failed its MOT test and I don't have the time to get it fixed.

It's a 1.6 manual and starts on the button every time. I've mostly dealt with servicing myself (I'm a mechanical engineer) or if it's been bigger jobs, or I haven't had time, I've put it in the garage. It's always had any work that it's needed but I don't have a huge stack of receipts or service books. The exterior and interior are in pretty good condition for it's age. No rust or nasty dents.

I've just had two brand new tyres on the back, the brakes were done a few months back too. If I were to keep it I would definitely be carrying out a service on it. The biggest problem is that is just failed it's MOT on corroded brake pipes, front and back and these will need to be replaced before it will pass another mot. Also the front tyres are now due for replacement too.

Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories). Oil leak, but not excessive 8.4.1 (a) (i). Nearside Front Tyre worn close to legal limit/worn on edge 5.2.3 (e). Offside Front Tyre worn close to legal limit/worn on edge 5.2.3 (e). Nearside Front Tyre slightly damaged/cracking or perishing 5.2.3 (d) (ii).
